JOB DESCRIPTION
POSITION: Accounting Interns (2) – LTE (20-25 hours per week)
LOCATION: Red Cliff Administration Office
SALARY: $17.00/hour
SUPERVISOR: Senior Accountant
THIS IS A PART-TIME LIMITED TERM NON-EXEMPT POSITION. APPLICANTS WILL BE SELECTED FROM THE INFORMATION SUPPLIED ON APPLICATION FORM ONLY. THERE WILL BE NO INTERVIEWS.
JOB SUMMARY: This position will assist with all duties in the finance department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in annual tribal inventory activities.
- Assist with annual financial audit activities as required by 2 CFR, Part 200, Subpart F-Audit Requirements.
- Assist Procurement department with API entry, canceling purchase orders balances.
- Assist Accounting department with JV entries as needed.
- Attend staff and other meetings, in-services, and events as directed by supervisor

SUPERVISORY AUTHORITY: None
KNOWLEDGE: Knowledge of and sensitivity to Ojibwe culture and traditions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of high school diploma, HSED or GED required.
- Experience in computerized accounting systems, experience with Sage MIP is a plus.
- Must possess strong analytical, numerical, reasoning and decision-making abilities.
- Must be able to work well in a team setting and possess problem and conflict resolution skills.
- driver’s license preferred, vehicle and appropriate vehicle coverage and maintain driver’s eligibility as a condition of employment. Be eligible to be put on the Tribe’s vehicle insurance policy
PERSONNAL CONTACTS: Daily contact with funding agencies, tribal programs,
customers etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: The duties assigned to this position involve bending, stooping, lifting, and carrying. Items may be placed on overhead storage. Weights to be carried are usually less than 25 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work setting must be maintained as a clean, nonsmoking, well-ventilated area in compliance with all applicable safety regulations.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: The ability to travel and attend meetings and trainings; overnight and out of town, both locally & nationally.
