Job Description:
Our innovative approach to satellite communications leverages the cloud-hosted Freedom® Software Platform and its global antenna network to achieve its mission of securing space access anytime, anywhere. As a Software Development Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in developing a complex ground system for the United States Space Force and other U.S. Government customers.

Job Description:

As a Software Development Engineer, you’ll play a crucial role in developing a complex ground system for the United States Space Force and other U.S. Government customers.
YOU MUST POSSESS OR BE ELIGIBLE FOR A TOP SECRET CLEARANCE.
Responsibilities:
- Achieve expertise in the existing Freedom Platform codebase
- Develop new software features and maintain existing code
- Conduct peer reviews with focus on quality assurance and security
- Practice strong code coverage through unit and integration testing
- Show potential to champion new software projects for system enhancement
- Build the codebase with consideration for security, maintainability, and employability
- Support Operations in anomaly investigations and on-call duties
- Write excellent customer-facing software documentation
- Write code adhering to security best practices (e.g. OWASP Top 10)
- Eliminate coding vulnerabilities (e.g. SQL injection, buffer overflows)
- Regularly assess third-party libraries and tools for known vulnerabilities
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field
- Excellent programming skills in Java, Rust, Python, or other languages
- 1-3 years of experience in software development
- Experience interfacing with various data sources: SQL, NoSQL, RESTful APIs
- Highly motivated, detail-oriented, and intellectually curious
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Familiarity with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
- Familiarity with satellite communications concepts and methods
- Possess or be eligible for a Top-Secret Clearance
- Colorado Springs, CO
- Occasional travel may be required
