Position Summary:
As a result of our rapid growth, we are looking for a Controller to join our team. Working together with our CFO and Accounting and Finance team, this individual will assist with planning, organizing, directing, and controlling the financial and administrative functions of the Company; apply and adhere to GAAP to account for and analyze financial information; provide for the collection, organization, analysis and distribution of financial information and reports; and use good business judgement to make recommendations to the CFO on improving profitability, financial, operational, and administrative matters.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Works closely with and reports directly to the CFO to establish financial objectives, implement annual plans, develop operating and capital expenditure budgets to meet short-term and long-term financial goals. Prepares periodic reporting and analysis of operating results. Is in regular contact with project leaders to gather financial information and updates on projects in progress.
2. Assists in ensuring the quality, accuracy, and thoroughness of the general accounting, cost accounting, and bookkeeping activities of the Company. Includes job cost, purchase order processing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, bank reconciliation, etc. Ensures the integrity of general ledger and prepares various monthly journal entries. Help to ensure that amounts owed to the Company are collected promptly.
3. Safeguards the financial resources of the business through establishing and monitoring programs for internal controls and general security.
4. Assists with preparation of regular financial reports (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statements, etc.) and presents to CFO as required. Reviews financial accounts, analyzes information, and makes recommendations. Prepares quarterly estimated Corp/Business taxes and assists CFO and/or CPA/audit firm with gathering information for and preparation of annual Income Taxes as needed. Conducts special projects as needed or requested by CFO or other management team members.
5. Keeps current with developments in accounting issues to identify potential problems or opportunities. Discusses findings/questions with CFO.
6. Works with accounting team to plan for and efficiently conduct annual review of Company’s financial records.
7. Other duties, as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position. Fills in wherever needed to get the job done.
Qualifications:
· Four-year degree or comparable education/experience in accounting or closely related field required. CPA or similar designation preferred but not required.
· Experience and comfort with computers and technology – computer accounting programs, Microsoft Office, SharePoint, etc.
· Detail oriented, adherence to GAAP
· Maintain integrity of highly confidential business information
· Self-motivated and hard working – ability to work independently and as part of a team, takes initiative to get things done
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
· Strong multi-tasking skills: ability to meet deadlines that change frequently
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· A valid driver’s license and must be insurable to drive
Pay: $85,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
