Veterinary Assistant/Kennel Attendant Position Available
Red Bud Veterinary Service is a full-service, 2 doctor, small animal veterinary clinic in the beautiful town of Red Bud, IL. We have been a part of the community since 1983 and due to continued growth, we are looking to add new members to our team. Our goal is to provide the highest quality, fear free medicine to our patients and their families, all while maintaining excellent customer service and a “hometown feel”. A huge emphasis is placed on client communication and we want pet parents to feel like they are involved in their pet’s care. We take pride in educating clients and recommending a proactive and preventative approach to veterinary medicine. Our team regularly attends continuing education and some of our DVM’s even have backgrounds in emergency medicine and special skills such as orthopedic surgery. For optimal patient care, our clinic has an in-house lab, digital radiography, dental radiography, newly upgraded dental equipment, and anesthetic monitoring equipment. We currently use Cornerstone for our scheduling and electronic medical record keeping system. We are also in the middle of a beautiful remodel of our hospital that will be sure to impress both the clients and our staff!
As a veterinary assistant/kennel attendant you will mainly be responsible for walking pets, feeding pets, cleaning kennels, general cleaning of the hospital, doing laundry, etc. You may also be asked to assist the DVM with restraint in appointments, patient treatments, answering the phone, etc..
The ideal candidate would have good communication skills, the ability to prioritize, organize and multitask. They must also have a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, an obvious love for animals and be open to a schedule that may include some evenings and weekends. Having fun while working with an amazing work family is a must!
