Position Responsibilities

- Implements and monitors quality assurance policies and procedures regarding sampling, evaluation, and statistical analysis.
- Applies industry specifications and follows established procedures to inspect, test, and record production samples in a timely manner to drive performance insight.
- Interprets and analyzes data/metrics to identify opportunities for quality and process improvement in production facilities.
- Investigates non-conformance utilizing quality tools and techniques to determine the root cause and establishes a corrective action plan.
- Facilitates the implementation of corrective actions by working closely with production.
- Ensures metrics fall within customer specifications and takes appropriate action as required.
- Champions and leads quality-related continuous improvement activities.
- Oversees the calibration of inspection equipment and order required testing supplies.
- Meets all Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements; participate (occasionally lead) in food safety meetings as required.
- Cultivates and promotes a strong safety culture and follow all safety policies, procedures and regulations; identify and communicate workplace hazards and correct or seek assistance in correcting unsafe actions or conditions; participate in safety meetings as required.
Required Qualifications
- GED or equivalent
- Ability to learn laboratory and measuring & test equipment
- Knowledge of statistics and using software to drive data analysis
- Exceptional communication abilities, capable of fostering strong internal and external relationships
- Ability to work effectively both independently as well as in a team environment to attain personal, team and company goals
- Well-organized and skilled in time management, prioritization, scheduling, and meeting deadlines
- Two (2) years of experience in a manufacturing environment
- Knowledgeable of good manufacturing practices (GMP) preferred
- This is a regular, full-time position with daily hours on site.
- The ability to be available for work daily and extended hours as necessary.
- Work is performed in a warehouse environment, manufacturing plant and occasionally outside in what may be adverse weather conditions.
- The work environment can involve exposure to heat, cold, humidity, moving machinery, extreme noise, visual strain, close quarters, fumes, odors, dust mists, and gases.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen.
- This position requires sitting, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing and operating machinery.
- The employee should be able to lift and/or move items up to up to 25 pounds many times per day. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
