Position Summary
We are hiring a detail-oriented Yard Spotter to support our operations by ensuring the accuracy of trailer documentation, maintaining yard inventory control, and enforcing compliance protocols. This position plays a vital role in ensuring smooth yard operations and upholding safety standards.
Key Responsibilities

• Maneuver trailers within the yard, transport them to loading docks, and ensure proper placement for loading and unloading.
• Work closely with warehouse personnel to schedule trailer movements, secure trailer doors, and maintain an organized yard.
• Follow safety guidelines, conduct vehicle inspections, and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain clear communication with the team, report yard issues, and provide shift change briefings.
• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and report any damages or issues.
• Perform pre-trip inspections, report mechanical issues, and keep maintenance records.
• Identify and suggest ways to improve yard operations.
• Be prepared to respond to emergencies according to protocols.
• Participate in training programs, safety meetings, and complete mandatory classes.
• Follow environmental guidelines and properly store hazardous materials.
• Maintain cleanliness in the operations area and vehicles.
• Adhere to company policies including the Standard of Conduct, Drug & Alcohol, Equal Opportunity (EO), and Sexual Harassment policies, and comply with the no-smoking policy.

Qualifications

• Valid Class A CDL (required for yard truck operation)
• Valid DOT Medical Card
• Active registration in the FMCSA Drug & Alcohol Clearinghouse
• Minimum 3 years of verifiable CDL Class A driving experience (local, regional, or OTR)
• Must pass background check and pre-employment drug screening

PPE Requirements

• Steel-toe or composite-toe boots required

Benefits and Compensation (Available after 90 days)

• Hourly pay: $21.00 to $22.00 per hour based on experience

Schedule

• 36/48 rotating schedule
• 5:30 PM – 5:30 AM
