Job Description
The Kennel Technician is responsible for the cleaning and sterilization of all equipment in the facility, and keeping the facility clean and orderly. An essential part of the job is interacting with the dogs in a kind and loving manner, while keeping them clean and safe. We have obtained recognition as Best of Georgia! We have very high standards and you must be willing and able to consistently uphold these high standards.
Responsibilities:
- Provide daily care and attention to animals in the kennel facility
- Feed and water animals according to their specific dietary needs
- Clean and sanitize dog houses and common areas
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians or parents
- Monitor animal behavior and report any concerns or changes to appropriate staff
- Exercise and socialize animals to ensure their physical and mental well-being
- Assist with grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming
- Maintain accurate records of animal care, including feeding schedules, medications, and behavior observations
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- MUST truly love dogs! Part of the job is giving dogs lots of attention and love - not just keeping them safe and clean.
- Previous experience working with animals preferred
- Ability to handle and restrain animals of various sizes and temperaments
- Knowledge of basic animal care
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team and take direction
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment; must be able to multi-task while staying organized and with a positive attitude
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged periods of standing or walking - this is a physically demanding position
- Must be able to be on feet for the duration of your shift, including walking up and down slanted walkway frequently
- Must be able to interact comfortably with clients/dog owners during pick up and drop off
- Must have reliable transportation
- 18 years of age
- No smoking or vaping anywhere on property
- Must be able to work evenings, weekends, holidays and a mix of all shifts (AM, Mid, and PM)

Pay: From $14.00 per hour
