Program Dates: June 15 – August 7, 2026
Must have experience as a swim instructor.
We’re looking for a certified and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to lead group lessons as part of our vibrant summer program. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a lasting impact on young swimmers while working in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Candidates must hold a current swim instruction certification.
(Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification preferred.)
Position Overview:
As the lead Swim Instructor, you’ll be responsible for teaching up to six swim groups per day. Each group will consist of a maximum of 18 children, ranging in age from 3.5 to 9 years old. You’ll work alongside a certified lifeguard and three additional adult staff members per group to ensure a safe and structured learning experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead group swim lessons tailored to children's ages and abilities
- Instruct on swimming techniques, breathing, and water safety
- Create a positive and encouraging learning environment
- Track attendance and monitor progress for each participant
- Provide feedback and guidance to support skill development
- Maintain pool area cleanliness and uphold all safety standards
Qualifications:
- Current certification in swim instruction is preferred.
- Red Cross Water Safety Instructor certification is highly preferred
- Prior experience in swim instruction or related fields such as lifeguarding, coaching, physical education, or martial arts is a plus
- Strong swimming ability with knowledge of various strokes and safety techniques
- Clear communication skills and a positive, team-focused attitude
- Ability to manage young children's behavior in a group setting
- Physically able to enter and exit the pool multiple times during each lesson
