Red Six Aerospace is seeking an experienced Contract Proposal Manager to lead and manage the full lifecycle of government proposals for Department of Defense opportunities. This is a high-intensity contract position structured in focused sprint cycles, typically 5–6 weeks of deep engagement. It's ideal for a seasoned DoD proposal professional who thrives under deadline pressure and wants flexibility between engagements.
What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end proposal process from DRFP through final RFP submission
- Lead proposal kick-off, develop compliance matrices, outlines, and schedules, and drive the team to on-time delivery
- Write, edit, and manage proposal volumes including technical, management, past performance, and cost narratives
- Coordinate cross-functionally with engineering, finance, contracts, and leadership to gather inputs and ensure proposal quality
- Serve as the single point of accountability for proposal quality, compliance, and submission
What You Bring
- 5 years of hands-on DoD proposal management experience, including prime and/or subcontractor roles
- Deep familiarity with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), DFARS, and DoD procurement processes
- Demonstrated experience managing proposals for Air Force, Army, Navy, SOCOM, or other DoD agencies
- Strong working knowledge of RFP/RFQ/BAA/SBIR/STTR structures and response requirements
- Excellent written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into compelling proposal narratives
- Experience with proposal tools and platforms (e.g., GovWin, GOVSHP, Privia, or similar)
- APMP certification a plus
