Position Overview
We are looking for an experienced Agile Coach to support large-scale Agile transformation initiatives across teams, programs, leadership, and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will have strong SAFe experience, enterprise Agile transformation expertise, and a proven ability to coach organizations beyond the individual Scrum team level.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead and support large-scale Agile and enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Coach organizations and teams on Lean-Agile principles and practices.
• Coach leaders, Agile Release Trains (ARTs), Release Train Engineers (RTEs), Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and other Agile roles.
• Identify value streams and support the launch and continuous improvement of Agile Release Trains.
• Coach ARTs and improve ART execution and overall performance.
• Support Agile enablement based on team and organizational maturity.
• Apply Lean, Agile, and product-thinking principles to organizational and team challenges.
• Support both application development teams and platform teams.
• Help organizations transition from project-oriented ways of working toward product-oriented operating models.
• Support the development of a strong product mindset.
• Facilitate and support SAFe training and Agile enablement activities.
• Participate in PI Planning, workshops, training sessions, and other Agile events as required.
• Provide coaching, workshops, microlearning, and team support when onsite participation is required.
• Work with leadership and stakeholders to drive organizational change and Agile transformation.
Required Qualifications
• 10 years of overall Lean and Agile experience.
• 5 years of SAFe coaching experience.
• Proven experience leading large-scale Agile or enterprise transformation initiatives.
• Strong experience operating beyond the individual Scrum team level.
• Experience coaching leadership, programs, ARTs, RTEs, Scrum Masters, and Product Owners.
• Hands-on experience with the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe).
• Active SPC (SAFe Practice Consultant) certification.
• Experience delivering or supporting SAFe training.
• Experience identifying value streams and launching or coaching Agile Release Trains.
• Experience improving ART execution and Agile organizational maturity.
• Strong organizational change and Agile transformation experience.
• Excellent coaching, facilitation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with project-to-product transformation.
• Experience implementing a product operating model.
• Experience coaching platform teams.
• Experience applying product thinking within technology or platform organizations.
• Experience with non-technical Lean/Agile transformation.
• Healthcare or health insurance industry experience.
• AWS experience.
• Experience supporting teams deploying AI capabilities on AWS.
• Additional SAFe or Agile certifications.
Work Environment
This is primarily a remote position. Candidates should be located within the DMV area and be comfortable participating in occasional onsite activities such as PI Planning, Agile training, workshops, microlearning sessions, leadership meetings, and other transformation activities.
The onsite schedule is based on business and team needs rather than a fixed daily schedule.
