What are the responsibilities and job description for the Recycling Material Handler Forklift Operator position at RECYCLING SERVICES?
Larcker Recycling is seeking an experienced Forklift Operator to support daily warehouse and yard operations. This position plays a key role in loading and unloading OCC cardboard bales, loose material, and assisting with trailer movement and yard flow.
We’re looking for someone dependable, safety-focused, and comfortable working in an FAST active recycling environment.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload OCC cardboard bales and loose recyclable material
- Operate forklift safely and efficiently in warehouse and yard settings
- Assist with trailer positioning and dock alignment
- Operate spotter truck (preferred experience)
- Accurately complete scale tickets and shipping documentation
- Maintain clean and organized loading areas
- Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance issues
- Follow all safety protocols and company procedures

Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years forklift operating experience (required)
- common sense
- Experience handling bales and bulk recyclable materials preferred
- Knowledge of spotter truck operation and trailer parking (preferred)
- Ability to write and process scale tickets accurately
- Strong awareness of surroundings and safe operating practices
- Ability to work in outdoor and warehouse environments
- Reliable transportation and strong attendance record
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in heat, cold, and dust conditions
- Ability to climb in and out of equipment throughout the shift
