The Company

Recycling Services of Florida, Inc. is a third-generation family-owned and operated company that has operated a secured recovery facility in the Florida area for 25 years. There are several locations across the state that specialize in collecting and processing recyclable commodities of all forms. These included recyclables ranging from commercially generated cardboard, all grades of printer paper, office paper, shrink wrap and plastics.

We operate Flatbed, Box Truck and Trailer service for large scale commercial customers. We can provide a variety of equipment options in the form of renting, leasing or outright selling. From a compactor, up to a large-scale baling or shredding system, we can come up with a solution for your needs while staying within budget and making economic sense. We can help any organization or company with service and equipment needs across central Florida (from Fort Pierce up through Orlando to Lakeland, Tampa and onto the Island).

Plant Manager

Summary

We are looking for a Plant Manager to join our team. As a Plant Manager, you will ensure the highest standards of environmental Safety and operational excellence by effectively managing the day-to-day operations of the recycling facilities and manage the costs efficiently within the sites. Daily reporting and meeting with CFO.

Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Other minor duties may be assigned.

  • Ensures smooth operation of site, including but not limited to: production, sorting, loading, unloading, inventory and labor.
  • Minimizes handling and operational costs.
  • Continually works to reduce turnaround time for trucks in and out of site.
  • Regularly proposes means of operational improvement.
  • Complies with OSHA and EPA regulations and ensures adherence to Safe work practices to encourage safe and efficient operations.
  • Assists in creating a positive team-oriented environment through employee development and motivation.
  • Ensures the cleanliness and maintenance of the equipment and fleet through inspections and preventive maintenance programs with supervisors/employees and maintenance shop.
  • Oversees personnel needs of the Sites including time and attendance, selecting, coaching, and training employees and evaluating employees’ performance. Provides input into termination, compensation, and promotion decisions to CFO.
  • Conducts and/or attends and contributes to periodic safety meetings.
  • Provides training and presentations as needed in a positive and professional manner.
  • Updates and submits required reports in a timely manner.
  • Assist with production as needed. Ability and skilled in use of forklift skid steer, bucket front-end loader and yard truck a plus.
  • Knowledge of, or willing to learn baler, sort line, and conveyor systems

Supervisory Responsibilities

The highest level of supervisory skills required in this job are the tasks associated with leading and coaching employees. This includes:

  • Direct/Indirect supervision of full-time employees including Leads, Drivers, Equipment Operators, Maintenance Mechanics, Sorters and Operational Support.

Qualifications

  • The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. A. Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree (accredited) in Business Administration, or similar area of study or in lieu of degree, High School Diploma or GED (accredited) and 4 years of industry work experience in leadership role.
  • Experience: 7 years of previous work experience (in addition to education requirement) with at least 4 years being in a leadership role.

  • The recycling facilities have a dusty environment containing recyclable materials.

Typical Physical Demands

  • Ability to operate office equipment used as needed.
  • Ability to organize various office systems/stations through adjusting, connecting, lifting, pulling, pushing, bending or folding for the purpose of proper records development, office functions and/or management.
  • Ability to use a computer and related devices, such as a keyboard or mouse or other related equipment, throughout the workday while seated at a desk or workstation.
  • Ability to climb ladders, bend, stoop or stand for long periods of time. In addition, individuals must be able to reach above shoulders and lift a minimum of 50 pounds.
  • Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.
  • Normal setting for this job is: Combination of office setting (20%) and operations floor (80%) of time.

Salary : $79,200 - $100,000
