Position Summary
The 2nd Shift Manufacturing Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe and reliable operations. This position plays a critical role in supporting production efficiency through preventive maintenance, equipment repairs, and facility upkeep while maintaining compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Equipment Maintenance & Reliability
- Perform preventive maintenance on production and support equipment according to established schedules.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures.
- Diagnose and repair motors, pumps, chains, belts, pulleys, augers, load cells, compressors, vacuum systems, air lines, and solenoids.
- Assist with installation, startup, and commissioning of new equipment.
- Fabricate replacement parts and components when necessary to improve equipment performance and reliability.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Electrical & Mechanical Systems
- Install, maintain, modify, and repair electrical systems and components.
- Troubleshoot electrical controls, sensors, switches, thermocouples, heater bands, quartz heaters, and instrumentation.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, diagrams, and mechanical drawings.
- Use testing equipment, including multimeters, to diagnose electrical issues.
- Perform welding and metal fabrication as required.
Facility Maintenance
- Perform general building and grounds maintenance, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and painting tasks.
- Assist with repairs and maintenance projects throughout the facility.
- Safely operate power tools, hand tools, and material handling equipment.
Safety & Compliance
- Follow all company safety procedures and applicable regulations, including:
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)
- Arc Flash Safety
- Hazardous Materials Handling
- Confined Space Entry
- OSHA and internal safety standards
- Maintain a safe work environment and proactively identify opportunities to improve safety and equipment reliability.
Qualifications
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Strong troubleshooting abilities across electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical drawings.
- Experience with welding, fabrication, and machining-related tasks.
- Knowledge of basic electrical circuits, instrumentation, sensors, and control systems.
- Proficiency using multimeters and electrical testing equipment.
- Ability to identify and work with SAE and metric fasteners, taps, dies, sockets, and hand tools.
- Experience using maintenance software and Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to prioritize work independently and respond quickly to changing production needs.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with extrusion equipment and manufacturing process systems.
- Forklift certification or experience operating various lift trucks.
- Specialized maintenance or technical training.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds safely.
- Comfortable working at elevated heights.
- Ability to climb ladders and work from platforms and mobile lifts.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, squatting, and overhead work.

Work Environment
This position works in an industrial manufacturing environment where exposure to machinery, electrical systems, welding equipment, grinders, saws, and moving equipment is common. Noise levels range from moderate to loud, and required personal protective equipment (PPE), including hearing protection, must be worn.
Employees are expected to consistently follow all safety procedures and take appropriate precautions when working around electrical systems, rotating machinery, and equipment installations.
Salary : $28 - $32
