The Opportunity
SAVEUR is looking to hire an editor to join our new commerce team. This writer will create SEO-driven commerce guides and product reviews supported by Saveur’s legacy brand voice and editorial content. The ideal candidate has e-commerce experience, and is passionate about sourcing and curating the very best products in the kitchen and culinary space. Reports to the Commerce Senior Editor.
The Person
- A passionate cook/bartender/grill master/diner with a deep understanding of the culinary space and a keen eye for food and product trends
- A gifted multi-tasker who can coordinate procuring and returning review materials while also producing 5 commerce guides/reviews per week
- An SEO-savvy and efficient writer who thrives on creating well-researched, expert vetted, authoritative review content that maximizes searchability
- A product and shopping obsessive who’s eager to support the culinary team with rigorously tested, curated, and thoughtful product guides that align with food world trends and seasonality for maximum search impact
Responsibilities
- Produce 5 commerce guides or product reviews per week.
- Work quickly and efficiently to ensure accuracy and timeliness of content production
- Perform appropriate research via vetted sources to ensure guides are accurate, well-informed, and in line with Saveur’s high editorial standards
- Work with our SEO team to align guides with best practices
- Perform related tasks to update or overhaul existing content
Qualifications
- 3 years experience writing experience at a major publication, media company, or service journalism outlet, with an emphasis on reviews of products and services
- Knowledge of SEO from an editorial perspective and understanding of how to use web analytics data to make editorial decisions
- Excellent communication and task management skills in a remote work environment; patience to work through multiple rounds of edits and balance multiple reporting projects and deadlines simultaneously; ability to work very independently, with minimal supervision
- An understanding of the culinary world, its products, and key players
