Role Overview
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geotechnical engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and experience managing projects from concept to completion. Candidates must hold an active California PE license in Geotechnical Engineering and demonstrate the ability to lead engineering teams while ensuring compliance with state regulations and industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects, including site investigations, soil/foundation design, slope stability, and seismic analysis.
- Review, develop, and approve geotechnical reports, designs, and technical documentation.
- Provide technical guidance, mentorship, and supervision to junior engineers and project teams.
- Collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
- Maintain professional licensure and stay current with continuing education requirements and California regulatory updates.
Qualifications
- Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Geotechnical Engineering in California.
- 5–12 years of relevant geotechnical engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of California geotechnical codes, regulations, and best practices.
- Excellent project management, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in engineering software, such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, PLAXIS, or other relevant tools.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with geotechnical site investigations, retaining walls, foundation design, and seismic considerations.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and quality standards.
- Leadership experience in mentoring or supervising engineering teams.
