Supply Chain Manager
Position Overview:
Seeking an experienced Supply Chain leader to oversee end-to-end supply chain operations in a manufacturing environment. This role will be responsible for procurement, supplier management, inventory control, logistics, warehousing, MRP, and demand planning while serving as a key member of the company's leadership team. The ideal candidate will ensure material availability, optimize inventory levels, strengthen supplier relationships, and drive operational excellence across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Planning
- Lead and manage MRP processes to ensure material availability and production continuity.
- Maintain accurate product configurations, vendor pricing, lead times, and inventory parameters.
- Partner with Sales, Operations, and Finance teams on demand forecasting and production planning.
- Manage and mentor purchasing staff and buyers.
- Optimize inventory levels while balancing service requirements and cash flow objectives.
Supply Chain & Supplier Management
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier partnerships.
- Negotiate supplier contracts, pricing, and service agreements.
- Evaluate, qualify, and monitor supplier performance.
- Identify and onboard new suppliers, products, and services.
- Ensure supplier-related quality system requirements are met.
- Collaborate with Quality and Laboratory teams to maintain regulatory and compliance standards.
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Establish and track supply chain KPIs to drive measurable performance improvements.
- Lead, mentor, and develop supply chain team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional leaders to support business initiatives.
- Drive process improvements and operational efficiencies throughout the supply chain.
Strategic Initiatives
- Provide hands-on purchasing support and act as backup for buyers when needed.
- Evaluate, implement, and optimize supply chain technologies and tools.
- Play a key role in ERP implementation, system design, and process development to support long-term business growth.
Required Qualifications
- 10 years of purchasing and supply chain management experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong experience with MRP, inventory management, procurement, and supplier management.
- Knowledge of manufacturing quality systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 13485, AS9100, or similar standards.
- Excellent negotiation, vendor management, and relationship-building skills.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Self-motivated professional capable of thriving in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment with minimal supervision.
Education
Required:
- Post-secondary degree.
Preferred:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations, Manufacturing, or a related field.
