Position Summary
Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Inspector to ensure all aircraft components processed within our Part 145 repair station meet regulatory, manufacturer, and internal quality standards. This role is critical to maintaining compliance with FAA, EASA, and UK CAA requirements while supporting safe and efficient return-to-service operations.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, compliance-driven, and experienced in aviation maintenance of quality systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections on aircraft components and accessories.
- Verify all work complies with FAA Part 145 regulations, manufacturer data, and company procedures.
- Review and approve maintenance documentation, including work orders, inspection records, and release certifications (e.g., FAA 8130-3).
- Ensure all components meet airworthiness standards prior to return to service.
- Conduct preliminary, hidden damage, and final inspections in accordance with approved technical data.
- Maintain accurate and audit-ready records in compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
- Identify non-conformities, initiate corrective actions, and support root cause analysis.
- Support internal and external audits (FAA, EASA, UK CAA, customer audits).
- Ensure proper tagging, traceability, and certification of parts and materials.
- Monitor calibration status of tools and test equipment used in inspections.
- Collaborate with technicians, engineering, and management to maintain high quality and turnaround standards.
- Promote continuous improvement within the Quality Management System (QMS).
Qualifications & Requirements
- FAA A&P License preferred (or Repairman Certificate as applicable).
- Minimum 2–5 years of experience in aviation maintenance or Part 145 environment.
- Strong knowledge of:
- FAA Part 145 regulations
- Manufacturer manuals (CMM, AMM, IPC, etc.)
- Airworthiness standards and documentation
- Ability to read and interpret technical data, drawings, and specifications.
- Experience with inspection tools and measurement equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
- Previous Repairman holder or A&P license (Accessories, Instrument and Radio Rating required)
Preferred Skills
- Experience with avionics, accessories, or electro-mechanical components
- Familiarity with EASA/UK CAA dual release or triple release environments
- Previous audit or quality system experience
- Knowledge of AS9100 or equivalent quality standards
