The Associate Attorney will assist with all phases of defense litigation matters from case inception through resolution. Responsibilities
- Assist with all phases of defense litigation matters
- Draft motions, pleadings, legal correspondence, and discovery documents
- Conduct legal research and case investigations
- Participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, and court appearances
- Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Support trial preparation and litigation strategy
- Manage deadlines and maintain organized case files
- Review records, reports, and litigation documents
- Travel throughout New York State for litigation matters as needed
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to practice law in New York State required
- 0–5 years of litigation experience preferred
- Strong legal writing and communication skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines
- Reliable transportation required
- Experience in insurance defense or civil litigation is a plus
