Role Description The Interim Manager of Case Management is a full-time, on-site role based in Baltimore, MD. This position oversees 18 Case Managers, including 2 lead Case Managers. The Interim Manager leads and mentors case management staff, ensures adherence to regulatory and payer requirements, and supports quality and cost-effective patient outcomes. Responsibilities include collaborating with interdisciplinary teams, monitoring performance metrics, resolving complex cases, and implementing best practices in managed care and care transitions. The role also involves reporting to organizational leadership on case management activities, identifying process improvements, and supporting staff onboarding and training during the interim period.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Case Management and Discharge Planning, with a focus on safe, efficient care transitions.
- Certified Case Manager (CCM) or equivalent case management certification preferred.
- Current RN in Maryland or compact or willing to get licensed in MD
- Progressive leadership experience in hospital or health system case management, including team supervision or management.
- Ability to analyze data, use case management software, and track performance indicators to drive improvements.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills for working with patients, families, clinical teams, and payers.
- Knowledge of applicable regulations, accreditation standards, and value-based care models.
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required; Master’s degree in a healthcare-related discipline is a plus.
- Capacity to adapt quickly in an interim leadership role, prioritize competing demands, and maintain high professional and ethical standards.
