About The Opportunity

Recruit22 is partnering with a leading organization to identify a Principal Software Engineer who will serve as a strategic technical leader responsible for shaping the future of a large-scale eCommerce platform. This role combines hands-on software engineering, enterprise architecture, cloud transformation, AI innovation, and technical leadership.

The ideal candidate brings a strong track record of designing and delivering modern, cloud-native applications while influencing engineering direction across multiple teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and drive application and solution architecture across a large-scale eCommerce ecosystem.
• Lead architecture reviews, technical governance, and engineering standards.
• Design and build scalable microservices and modern front-end architectures.
• Drive cloud modernization initiatives utilizing Microsoft Azure technologies.
• Develop and implement AI-powered solutions, agentic workflows, and LLM integrations.
• Establish best practices for software quality, CI/CD, security, observability, and reliability.
• Mentor engineering teams and influence technical direction across the organization.
• Partner with business stakeholders to align technology strategy with long-term business objectives.
  
  

Required Experience

• 15 years of progressive software engineering experience.
• Proven experience in Principal, Staff, or Lead Architect-level roles.
• Expertise designing large-scale distributed systems and eCommerce platforms.
• Strong background with:
• C#, .NET Core
• Java
• Python
• Go
• React.js
• Next.js
• TypeScript
• Deep experience with:
• Microservices architecture
• Event-driven systems
• Domain-Driven Design (DDD)
• Cloud-native architecture
• API design and integration patterns
• Advanced Microsoft Azure experience including:
• AKS
• Azure Functions
• Azure Service Bus
• Cosmos DB
• Azure Front Door
• Azure DevOps
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or Bicep).
• Strong CI/CD, DevSecOps, and Kubernetes expertise.
  
  

AI & Emerging Technology Experience

Candidates should have hands-on experience delivering production-grade AI solutions, including:

• AI agents and multi-agent workflows
• LLM integrations (OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini)
• Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG)
• Vector databases
• AI-powered automation and search solutions
• Operationalizing AI capabilities at enterprise scale
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with industrial or B2B eCommerce platforms.
• Azure Solutions Architect certification (AZ-305) or equivalent.
• Experience with GraphQL federation.
• Experience implementing observability frameworks and reliability engineering practices.
• Background leading architecture review boards, technical communities of practice, and engineering mentorship initiatives.
  
  

Education

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline preferred.
• Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
