Manager, Cloud Platform Engineering (Azure)
We're seeking a Manager, Cloud Platform Engineering to lead our Azure cloud platform strategy, operations, and engineering team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for building a secure, scalable, and self-service cloud platform that supports enterprise applications, data platforms, and critical business services.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of Cloud and Platform Engineers
- Own Azure platform strategy, architecture, governance, and operations
- Drive Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and automation best practices
- Build and maintain self-service cloud capabilities and reusable platform modules
- Lead Microsoft Entra ID, identity governance, RBAC, and access management initiatives
- Establish Azure governance, landing zones, policies, and operational standards
- Partner with Security, Networking, Data, and Application teams on enterprise initiatives
- Improve platform reliability, monitoring, disaster recovery, and incident response processes
- Drive cloud cost optimization and FinOps initiatives
- Standardize CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and platform engineering practices
Requirements
- 10 years of Azure, cloud, infrastructure, or platform engineering experience
- 4 years leading technical engineering teams
- Deep experience with Microsoft Azure and enterprise cloud architecture
- Strong Terraform / Infrastructure as Code expertise
- Hands-on Microsoft Entra ID and Identity & Access Management experience
- Experience building cloud platforms, automation frameworks, and self-service capabilities
- Strong knowledge of cloud security, governance, and operational best practices
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automation, and cloud networking
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure certifications (Solutions Architect, Administrator, Network Engineer)
- Experience with Azure Landing Zones and Cloud Adoption Framework
- Experience with AKS, FinOps, and observability platforms
- Background supporting hybrid cloud environments
- Experience in energy, manufacturing, industrial, or large enterprise environments
