This role is open to female applicants only under the Equality Act 2010, Schedule 9, Part 1, due to the nature of the service being delivered. A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role. About the Role You will be part of the new, York and North Yorkshire Women’s Alliance Service; a multi-agency consortium involving St Giles Trust, Waythrough and Changing Lives. The Women’s Alliance service will consist of a team of caseworkers providing person-centred support to all women across the county, including those facing barriers to engagement such as women residing in the most rural communities, and those belonging to minority groups. Referrals will be received via several pathways: North Yorkshire Police (as an Out of Court Disposal), from partner agencies, or from women choosing to self-refer/walk-in. You will work with service users to develop and maintain support plans and records, including risk assessments and safety plans. Working closely with specialist agencies, you will take a joined-up approach to holistically address a range of issues and needs in order for women to achieve outcomes and improve their overall wellbeing. You will encourage and support partner agencies to co-locate across all identified gender specific spaces, including the women’s centres, multi-agency drop-in sessions, and Liberty Links rural provision, committing to working collaboratively wherever possible. Whilst York or Scarborough Women’s Centres will be your base, there will be an element of outreach whereby you will drive our Liberty Links Transit sized vehicle to meet with isolated women residing in rural communities and facing barriers to engagement. You will also work with your team to provide assertive outreach to young women and girls in targeted areas, raising awareness of risks around exploitation, county lines, toxic masculinity, gangs and unhealthy choices. We positively encourage applications if you have previously worked on a client-led support project, have had personal adverse experiences such as homelessness, substance misuse, debt, involvement with the Criminal Justice System, or involvement with gangs etc. You will need to demonstrate how your lived experience supports your ability to carry out the role to the benefit of the clients we work with. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Essential NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent qualification) or willingness to work towards this Experience delivering one-to-one and group therapeutic interventions Experience working with carers and families Understanding of evidence-based interventions including MI, PSIs, CBT, and ITEP Strong communication and interpersonal skills Good IT skills including Microsoft Office programmes Ability to work collaboratively within multidisciplinary and partnership settings All candidates must be female. All candidates must possess a full clean driving license and be confident driving a transit sized vehicle. Vetting requirements are in accordance with Non-Police Personnel Vetting (NPPV) and will also include Enhanced Adult and Children DBS check. Key Accountabilities Providing person-centred, holistic, and trauma informed support to females. Completing trauma informed assessments and agreeing action planning in collaboration with service user based identified needs. Delivering a range of interventions to service users which contribute towards achieved outcomes, including group sessions. To work closely with North Yorkshire Police contacts to update regularly on referrals received via the Out of Court Disposal pathway. Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with specialist agencies including Police, Probation, Councils, IDAS, Horizons, Change Grow Live, TEWV, Yor Sexual Health, Living Well, Sparks, Rise, Survive, Community Counselling, SOS North Yorkshire, Youth Justice, Restorative Justice, and others who will assist in achieving outcomes for service users. To utilise multi-agency women’s drop-in sessions to deliver interventions on 1:1 or group basis. To provide outreach support to women residing in the most rural communities across the county using our Liberty Links transit size vehicles. Working towards contractual targets and outcomes within agreed timescales and in line with specified quality standards. Using databases to record all activity relating to caseload ensuring all information is recorded within agreed deadlines. Providing updates and reports where required using a range of formats. Positively representing the St Giles Trust, Waythrough, and Changing Lives partnership in all meetings including conferences, seminars, and other events. Proactively adopting a learning approach to the role, improving skills and knowledge to continue providing a high-quality service for service users. Desirable Relevant professional qualification in addiction studies, counselling, social work, or therapeutic practice Knowledge of harm reduction approaches in relation to substance misuse Experience of recovery planning and risk management Knowledge of safeguarding and hidden harm Experience using management information systems Understanding of best practice frameworks including NICE, DOH, NTA, NMC, Care Quality Commission, and Caldicott Standards We are looking for people who share our values of kindness, courage, and respect, and who are committed to delivering high-quality support that changes lives.
