Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one support to clients, helping them navigate their recovery journey.
- Utilize crisis intervention and management techniques to address immediate needs and challenges faced by clients.
- Conduct motivational interviewing sessions to encourage positive behavioral changes.
- Assist clients in developing coping strategies and life skills necessary for sustained recovery.
- Facilitate group sessions focused on peer support and sharing of experiences.
- Collaborate with mental health professionals to create comprehensive care plans tailored to individual client needs.
- Maintain accurate records using EHR systems to track client progress and document interactions.
- Serve as a mentor, offering guidance based on personal recovery experiences while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Advocate for clients within the community, connecting them with additional resources such as social services or support groups.
Requirements
- Experience in crisis intervention and crisis management within a behavioral health or addiction counseling context.
- Strong background in mental health counseling, social work, or related fields is preferred.
- Proficient in motivational interviewing techniques and able to apply them effectively in client interactions.
- Familiarity with EHR systems for documentation purposes is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to build rapport with diverse populations.
- GED/Highschool Diploma.
- WVCBAPP PRSS Certification.
