Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Aide to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will assist physical therapists in providing high-quality patient care in various settings, including outpatient clinics and inpatient facilities. This role is essential for ensuring that patients receive the necessary support during their rehabilitation journey, promoting their recovery and overall well-being.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients.
- Prepare treatment areas and ensure all equipment is sanitized and ready for use.
- Help patients with exercises and mobility tasks under the supervision of licensed staff.
- Conduct patient intake by gathering medical history and relevant information.
- Maintain accurate records of patient progress and report any changes to the therapy team.
- Provide excellent patient service, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment.
- Educate patients on proper techniques for exercises and activities to enhance recovery.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Support administrative tasks as needed, including scheduling appointments and managing files.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology is preferred.
- Previous experience in a hospital setting or outpatient clinic is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with acute care, post-acute care, sub-acute care, orthopedics, geriatrics, and hospital medicine is beneficial.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service and care.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team while also being self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills to interact with patients, families, and healthcare providers.
