Part-time Resident Assistant

Recovery Defined has opportunity available for a part-time Residential Assistant to support community housing clients who are actively involved in addiction recovery and mental health services in the Montgomery and Butler Counties area. Recovery Defined’s goal is to bring hope and compassion to people struggling with mental illnesses and addiction disorders within the southeastern Ohio region by providing a safe and secure setting.

Essential Functions:

The Residential Assistant will help ensure a therapeutic and safe environment clients residing within the housing units by monitoring the adherence of rules and policies. Additional Residential Assistant duties may include intakes and orientation of clients and the processing of clients that are being discharged.

Key Daily Functions:

· Monitor activities to ensure program guidelines are followed and appropriate client care is provided.

· Ability to use closed circuit monitoring system.

· Make periodic rounds of building/grounds to ensure safety, security, and optimal facility operations.

· Assist clients and peers in making appropriate decisions.

· Deliver on-going oversight of client activity.

· Complete accurate and timely documentation.

· Respond to emergencies or incidents will communicating with supervisor.

· Recognize behavior changes and monitor client movement.

· Operate vehicle to transport clients as required.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to problem solve and multi-task

· Ability to use conflict resolution and crisis managements skills and techniques

· Driving if required by program

Experience/Education:

Must have some knowledge of the disease of chemical dependency and mental health. High School Diploma or G.E.D required.

Shift:

Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM
