What are the responsibilities and job description for the DBT Virtual Skills Group Therapist position at Recovery DBT?
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate structured virtual DBT skills groups, delivering core modules including mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness
- Monitor client progress and provide ongoing assessment of clinical needs within the group setting
- Reinforce the application of DBT skills to real-life situations, supporting behavior change and emotional regulation
- Maintain adherence to DBT principles and model skills consistently throughout sessions
- Collaborate with the multidisciplinary treatment team to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
- Complete timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation for all group sessions and client interactions
Requirements:
- Master’s degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related field
- Active, unrestricted state licensure as a Therapist or Counselor
- Proficiency in diagnostic coding and clinical documentation standards
- Experience with diverse clinical populations; specialized training (e.g., gender-affirming care, DBT, trauma-informed care) is a plus
- Familiarity working with individuals with developmental or learning differences preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport across diverse client populations
