What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Counselor position at Recovery Center of Niagara LLC?
Looking to gain experience in the substance use and/or mental health field? We are seeking counselors to join our team. The Recovery Center of Niagara is an organization focusing on the care and treatment of those suffering from substance and alcohol use disorder. Our medical facility is located in Newfane and provides each step of care from the detox, medication assisted treatment, rehab and recovery therapy. Unit counselors will be responsible for providing support to patients to reduce barriers to treatment and keeping patients engaged in addiction treatment services. They will model competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills while encouraging and inspiring hope for a patient in recovery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Career Growth: Hands-on caseload experience ideal for new graduates and students.
Learning experience: Work detox, MAT, rehab, and recovery therapy.
Client Support: Lead individual/group sessions and run workshops.
Unit Care: Maintain the detox or inpatient unit and track schedules.
Departmental Collaboration: Coordinate daily with nursing, operations and clinical staff.
Shift(s) available
Sunday to Thursday 2:00 pm to 10:00 pm
Tuesday to Saturday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm

Minimum Qualifications:
- In school for social work or relatable field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- New Grads in social work and CASAC credentialed encouraged to apply.
