What are the responsibilities and job description for the Unit Counselor(CASAC T and Counselor Assistants) position at Recovery Center of Niagara LLC?

Recovery Center of Niagara is an organization focusing on the care and treatment of those suffering from substance and alcohol use disorder that has partnered with DailyPay for same day access to funds! Our medical facility is located in Newfane and provides each step of care from the detox, medication assisted treatment, rehab and recovery therapy.
Unit counselors will be responsible for providing support to patients to reduce barriers to treatment and keeping patients engaged in addiction treatment services. They will model competency in recovery and ongoing coping skills while encouraging and inspiring hope for a patient in recovery.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for maintaining Detox or inpatient unit!
- Caseload experience provided
- Weekly individual and group counseling sessions (as assigned).
- Performs clinical assessment and intake as needed.
- Interact with patients in a professional, courteous, empathetic, and supportive way at all times.
- Regularly communicate with Counselors and Nursing staff regarding patient issues and patient care.
- Encourage positive interactions and conversations amongst patients and staff.
- Assure patients adhere to program activity schedule.
- Educate clients on daily living activities and ensure healthy functioning.
- Observe clients for inconsistent behavior and report to appropriate staff (Clinical, Nursing, etc.) and include this information in your shift report.
- Under the supervision of a master level QHP, assist with monthly skills-based workshops relative to chemical dependency.
- Assist with the process, completion and distribution of incident reports based on established agency-wide protocol as directed.
- Assist in the preparation of weekly case conference and case reviews
- Assist with the clinical discharge process and ensure patient receives all required referrals and discharge information.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Maintain confidentiality of patients at all times as per regulations
- Ensure that patients see nursing staff upon discharge.
- De-escalate behaviorally compromised patients
- Act as a role model for patients and peers!
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications:
- In school for social work or relatable field
- High school diploma or equivalent
- New Grads in social work and CASAC credentialed encouraged to apply.
