A companion is literally "someone who breaks bread with another." Café Companions come into the Recovery Café space to listen, to share a meal or a cup of coffee, to be a friend to members who come here for recovery support. Many members are either homeless or at risk of homelessness, many have mental health issues, addiction and recovering from trauma. The time you spend, and the respect you show them, provides needed support. Training is provided.
The Café is open Monday through Friday from 10 00 a.m.-4 00 p.m. Must be available at least one of those days, during those hours, to be a Companion. Most Companions choose to be here from1-2 hours per visit.
