Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will work closely with licensed physical therapists to provide high-quality care to patients in various settings, including outpatient clinics and home health environments. Your primary focus will be on assisting patients in their rehabilitation journey, helping them regain mobility and improve their overall quality of life.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients, ensuring adherence to care plans.
- Provide therapeutic exercises and modalities as directed by the supervising therapist.
- Monitor patient progress and report changes or concerns to the physical therapist.
- Educate patients and their families on exercise techniques, safety measures, and home care strategies.
- Maintain accurate documentation of patient treatments and progress notes using medical terminology.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Support geriatric patients with specialized techniques tailored to their needs, including orthopedics and trigger point therapy.
- Ensure a clean and safe clinic environment for both patients and staff.
Qualifications
- Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure or certification as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
- Knowledge of physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to physical therapy practices.
- Experience in outpatient settings or home health care is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with developing care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and team members.
