The career opportunity for you:
Recore Electrical Contractors is seeking an Electrical Professional Engineer (PE), responsible for the design, review, and oversight of electrical systems for industrial construction projects. This role ensures all work complies with applicable codes, client specifications, and safety standards, while supporting project execution from concept through commissioning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electrical systems for industrial facilities, including power distribution, motor control, lighting, and instrumentation.
- Prepare and review engineering documents such as one-line diagrams, schematics, load calculations, panel schedules, and specifications.
- Apply and ensure compliance with codes and standards such as the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA 70 / NEC), OSHA regulations, and local/state requirements.
- Provide engineering support to project managers, estimators, and field personnel.
- Perform site visits to assess existing conditions, troubleshoot issues, and verify installations.
- Review contractor submittals, shop drawings, and equipment selections.
- Stamp/seal engineering documents as required.
- Coordinate with clients, vendors, and multidisciplinary teams (mechanical, civil, controls).
- Support project commissioning, startup, and system testing.
- Identify opportunities for value engineering and cost savings.
- Ensure adherence to safety policies and promote a strong safety culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Active Professional Engineer (PE) license (NC, SC, GA, TN, VA, FL).
- 5–10 years of experience in industrial electrical design and construction.
- Strong knowledge of medium- and low-voltage systems, MCCs, VFDs, PLCs, and instrumentation.
- Proficiency with design tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, SKM Power Tools).
- Familiarity with industrial sectors such as manufacturing, energy, food processing, or chemical plants.
- Ability to interpret and develop technical drawings and specifications.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience with arc flash studies, short circuit analysis, and coordination studies.
- Knowledge of hazardous (classified) locations.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
