Damage Prevention Technician

This is a full-time position throughout the Albany, Cohoes, Latham, Troy areas in New York. The starting pay is $21/hr. for new technicians up to $27/hr. for those with substantial prior experience. An additional $5/hr., after training, will be provided to those who choose to use a personal vehicle over a company vehicle. Must have a reliable vehicle to use for work purposes if this payment option is desired. Our Damage Prevention Advisors are responsible for sites in which excavations are being performed. This position requires one to be knowledgeable in the construction and utility industries. Damage Prevention Advisors will ensure that Dig Safely NY is called for utility mark-out and responded to accordingly and that the scope of work with machinery is in accordance with CR753 while excavation is being performed. Damage Prevention Advisors will work with contractors on CR 753 daily, advise on corrective actions when necessary, and reinforce positively when a proper dig occurs. A good safety background, knowledge in Microsoft Office products, basic computer functions, data entry, and smartphone use are required. Damage prevention advisors will be responsible for inspecting equipment daily and daily work planning is a must.
