The Senior Blow Molding Process Technician is responsible for being the subject matter expert (SME) for all blow molding machines to produce high-quality products and reduce down-time. This role involves troubleshooting, process optimization and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.

Overview:
The Senior Blow Molding Process Technician is responsible for being the subject matter expert (SME) for all blow molding machines to produce high-quality products and reduce down-time. This role involves troubleshooting, process optimization and ensuring compliance with safety and quality standards.
Your role at Prestone:
- Owns, Manages and plan Blow Molding activities such as process validation, controls and procedures, part design, tool optimization, operation and maintenance of equipment
- Develop and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all blow molding machines.
- Perform training from last update of SOP’s
- Process ownership and compliance including but not limited to:
- Air compressors, air settings, chiller and water temperatures, blender settings, parison air settings and position, knock out rod inspection, IMLs
- Planning and regular review of daily, weekly, monthly preventative maintenance
- Manage mold maintenance, repair and refurbishment processes, and tracks units produced and repair documentation.
- Review and follow through of quality data to make necessary machine adjustments ensuring bottles produced are within specifications
- Perform mechanical troubleshooting to ensure machines are running efficiently
- Perform operator functions such as adjust machine settings and set up molds
- Operate and maintain blow molding machines when necessary
- Complete required paperwork for accurate production when operating machines
- Ensure blow molding machines are operating in a safe, efficient manner
- Support organizational wide initiatives including but not limited to spares, corporate support, bottle profile
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Other duties as assigned, based on operational needs or special projects.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- 5 years blow molding or plastic manufacturing experience in a manufacturing facility
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule based on business needs
- 5 Advanced mechanical troubleshooting skills- mechanical aptitude and ability to operate complex machinery
- Proficiency of precision machining and measuring tools
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Knowledge of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
- Ability and willingness to work as team member to perform training and constant coaching operator. People oriented.
- Able to travel with short term notice (5%).
- 10 years blow molding or plastic manufacturing experience in a manufacturing facility
- 10 Advanced mechanical troubleshooting skills- mechanical aptitude and ability to operate complex machinery
- Bilingual a plus (English and Spanish)
- Must be able to go up and down stairs and ladders frequently
- Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
- Ability to operate a forklift and walk behind lift
- Must be able to stand for the majority of the shift
- Use a variety of hand tools and precision measurement tools
- Exposure to heat, noise and plastic resin odors
- The production facility is within an indoor industrial environment and is not climate controlled
