The role:
As our Senior Risk and Fraud specialist, you will be a pivotal force in advancing the capabilities and success of our Payments & Risk team.
Your expertise and mindset will be instrumental in shaping and executing our Risk and Fraud strategy and you will collaborate closely with product managers, BI and the Payments & Risk team to drive advancements on our roadmap.
You will work with a team of Fraud Analysts, responsible for rules configuration, projects, performance monitoring and data analysis with a consistent focus on priorities, KPIs and execution of the strategy. You will also share the accountability on the fraud ratios, approval rates and ultimately the chargeback result on the P&L.
You will be the bridge between multiple internal teams and a diverse ecosystem of external partners, including payment service providers and specialized risk management vendors.
Daily operations (execution):
Day-to-day fraud and risk management operations, including monitoring of transactions and customer activity across various payment methods and platforms to detect and mitigate emerging fraud trends and anomalies
Perform in-depth analysis to identify fraud activities or patterns, and pinpoint opportunities to optimize the payment and risk funnel - i.e. adding/removing layers of defense to maximize profit balancing acceptance, cost and fraud
Serve as a point of contact for ad-hoc questions related to fraud and risk from internal teams and external partners
Define, implement and refine fraud mitigation strategies tailored to different payment methods and evolving fraud typologies, ensuring a balance between risk prevention, customer experience and commercial objectives
Generate and present weekly and monthly reports on fraud performance and observed trends; proactively communicating insights and recommending actions.
Strategic initiatives (strategy):
Execute strategic projects focused on enhancing fraud prevention and/or payment optimization. This includes thorough analyses to identify opportunities, developing robust business cases with clear ROI and project execution through performance tracking and stakeholder reporting
Support in evaluation and potential integration of new payment and/or risk features by developing business cases that assess impact, risk, cost-benefit and align with long-term risk strategy
Work on continuous improvement of our risk management capabilities by developing (predictive) models and rule-based logic for risk management use-cases. This includes (dynamic) payment route optimization, A/B testing, risk scoring, customer segmentation based on risk factors and (real-time) anomaly detection.
Explore and implement automation opportunities for routine risk management tasks, including reporting, alert generation and potentially aspects of rules deployment or model adjustments
Design and execute payment and risk strategies, fraud rules and user experience (from payments and risk perspective) to determine the optimal balance between conversion, cost and risk mitigation.

Very strong analytical, quantitative and critical thinking skills
