What are the responsibilities and job description for the Safety Security Manager position at RECARO Aircraft Seating?
Position Summary:
The Safety & Security Manager will provide full support to the operations team to ensure leadership and management of the safety programs. To drive a consistent approach across all EHS activities on the RECARO RAU site. Driving forward the EHS management systems by influencing the management team, whilst working with the operations team to ensure compliance.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned
- Administrate the incident reporting/investigation program
- Ensure OSHA compliance and assist with investigations & interaction
- Administrate and perform safety related training topic
- Active in the planning and development of the site Emergency Preparedness program
- Administrate the Infectious Disease program
- Develop and maintain the Powered Industrial Truck Safety program including training
- Chair the site Safety Committee
- Chair the site First Responders Tea
- Manage First Aid supplies & AED function/maintenance
- Coordinate any Industrial Hygiene study
- Represent Safety components in ISO audits & interactions, and the site Environmental Team activities
- Develop and implement site security policies, protocols, & procedure
- Site lockdowns/threat events, customer visits/events, site security training/initiatives
- Manage site Security system
- Burglar alarm, camera surveillance, onsite guest management
- Interacts with law enforcement & emergency responders
- Co-ordination of site EMS and Environmental Permit
- Review environmental aspects and assist with development of control measures
- Internal Audit Schedule, undertaking audits and aligning on timely corrective action
- Technical support, advice and guidance to managers on HS&E legal compliance and best practice
- Driving the RAU Management team to effectively implement the Safety Management System
- Providing support, assistance, and guidance to Departments on
- Risk assessments, EHS audit and inspection programs, development of EHS operating procedures, incident investigations, Root Cause analysis
- Maintenance of EHS KPI data
- Injury/Incident statistics, Environmental Permit Annual Returns, Environmental KPI’
- Liaison with employees on Occupational Health matters
Education/Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in related field with 5 years of experience; or 8 years of related experience
- Occupational Hygiene and Safety Technician certification preferred
- American Society of Safety Professionals local chapter membership preferred
- Lean/Six Sigma Experience preferred
- Knowledge and understanding of OSHA, EPA, local and state regulatory requirements
- Possess Texas Personal Protective Officer License preferred (minimum level II)
- Experience in budgetary process and planning
