About Re:Build Manufacturing

At Re:Build Manufacturing (RBM), we’re rebuilding America’s manufacturing base and creating sustainable, high-quality jobs in communities impacted by decades of deindustrialization. We are not private equity — we build and invest for the long term, applying advanced technologies, proven systems, and deep resources to help U.S. manufacturing compete globally.

RBM has a very broad set of engineering and manufacturing capabilities that makes us uniquely able to take on complex product development and manufacturing programs for our customers. The different number of manufacturing and engineering disciplines resident within Re:Build Manufacturing may be unrivaled in the US. This has created a lot of demand for our services, resulting in a high rate of growth and the opportunities that come with that.

Re:Build New Kensington (RBNK) is a key part of our mission to rebuild US manufacturing. Located in a community adversely impacted by deindustrialization but with a deep pool of manufacturing talent, RBNK was established to manufacture high-volume and complex products for RBM customers in many industries.

The Need

RBM is engineering and manufacturing products for our customers, including in the Aerospace & Defense industries, and is being asked by them to scale up the production of components and electromechanical systems and sub-systems. This will be done at RBNK, and we need someone to lead a dedicated and successful Aerospace manufacturing group.

Who we are looking for

We are seeking a proven operations leader to help stand up and lead a new aerospace manufacturing operation within our RBNK facility, to include component production and electromechanical assembly. This is a highly visible role, accountable for building the team, processes, and capabilities required to launch and scale production for complex product lines.

You will have full operational responsibility for this business area, including leadership of production, planning, and day-to-day execution, while collaborating closely with existing site functional leaders in Engineering, Quality, and Supply Chain. Success will require a hands-on leadership style, deep manufacturing expertise, and the ability to deliver on aggressive performance targets for safety, quality, delivery and cost.

What you get to do!

  • Help to stand up a new manufacturing organization, including setting up the production processes and equipment, hiring, onboarding, and developing a high-performing operations team, and onboarding new manufacturing programs that we anticipate scaling rapidly.
  • Partner with other support departments such Sales, Program Management, Engineering, Technical Development, Quality, Finance, and Human Resources to ensure readiness for program launch and ramp-up.
  • Develop and implement operational strategies, priorities, and activities to ensure delivery on customer commitments and attainment of Aerospace production business objectives.
  • Establish production systems, workflows, and performance metrics to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost (SQDC) objectives are met.
  • Provide leadership and management of Re:Builders to ensure effective selection, development, retention, and performance management of team members.
  • Lead day-to-day production operations and coordinate priorities with supporting site functions. Own ongoing performance KPIs and metrics and use them to drive improvement in production performance and volume/workflow planning. This will include Lean thinking and the use of Lean tools and methods for continuous improvement.
  • Develop and implement effective communication and engagement strategies to ensure teams are informed, aligned, and motivated to accomplish objectives.
  • Assist with budget preparation for the business unit and monitor operational and financial metrics, take corrective actions, and report performance to senior leadership. Participate in capacity planning activities to support business growth and sustainment.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence aligned with the Principles of The Re:Build Way.

What you will bring to the Team

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Business Administration, Technical discipline (e.g. Engineering), or related field.
  • 10 years of experience in manufacturing leadership roles, preferably with electromechanical assembly or consumer electronics experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of operations and production management, including experience leading a complex, high-rate production facility, and using Lean principles and practices and ERP and other information systems.
  • Ability to interpret operating metrics and financial data to diagnose performance and manage production goals.
  • Excellent leadership, managerial, supervisory, and planning/execution skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to build and sustain high levels of team engagement and motivation.
  • Ability to mentor, coach, and develop team members.
  • Strong customer service orientation, interpersonal skills, and relationship-building abilities.
  • Critical thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to appropriately manage confidential, sensitive information.
  • This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
