Position Overview: The Marketing Communications Specialist is a full-time, on-site role based in Houston, TX. This candidate will promote Rebuilding Together Houston's products and services to existing and prospective donors, partners, and clients through strategic use of social media, email campaigns, website, and events. The Specialist will manage the RTH brand message.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •   Collaborates with the CEO, Development, and Client Services teams to support the organization's communications and marketing needs.
  •   Researches communications trends and reviews marketing materials from Rebuilding Together Houston and similar organizations to identify ideas and best practices.
  •   Creates, edits, and distributes content for email campaigns, newsletters, flyers, brochures, website, and other marketing materials.
  •   Drafts press releases, media advisories, and story pitches; assists with media outreach and coordination of interviews.
  •   Maintains and updates the organization's website and social media platforms by creating engaging content, scheduling posts, monitoring engagement, and responding to inquiries as appropriate.
  •   Ensures communications materials comply with Rebuilding Together National Brand Guidelines and assists staff with proper brand usage.
  •   Attends volunteer projects, community events, donor events, and partner events to gather photos, stories, and content for marketing and communications efforts.
  •  Prepares presentation materials, talking points, and other communications for senior leadership, board meetings, donors, and community presentations.
  •   Maintains current media contact lists and assists in cultivating relationships with media outlets.
  •   Monitors local news and community activities to identify opportunities for organizational visibility and community engagement.
  • Collects homeowner, volunteer, donor, and partner stories to develop compelling content that highlights the organization's mission and impact.
  •  Represents the organization at community and volunteer events and assists with media and public relations activities as assigned.
  •   Tracks and reports basic communications metrics, including website traffic, email performance, social media, and campaign results.
  • Assists the CEO with communications related to the Board Communications and Events Committee, including meeting materials and follow-up.

Requirements:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including public speaking and presentations.
  •   Strong copywriting skills, ability to quickly draft compelling messaging across different formats and platforms
  • Data Literacy, understanding how to analyze website and social traffic to prove campaign effectiveness.
  • Familiarity with graphic design and website management
  •  Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Outstanding time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Spanish language fluency preferred 

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $38,000-$45,000 annually based on experience
  • Employee-paid Medical, Life Insurance, Dental, Vision and Long-Term Disability.
  •  14 paid holidays, and 40 hours of Paid Time Off (PTO) for observance of religious holidays or sick leave are available after the initial probationary period of 90 days.
  • 40 hours of paid vacation after initial six months
