What are the responsibilities and job description for the X-ray Technologist position at Rebound Orthopedics & Neurosurgery?
Rebound is looking for a per diem X-Ray Tech to join our team! The X-Ray Tech will operate radiologic equipment to make clinical diagnostic x-ray films directed by physicians. This role performs routine diagnostic procedures and special orthopedic views.
Responsibilities:

- Position patients and adjust equipment for taking x-rays following established procedures on DR and traditional equipment.
- Instruct patients regarding procedures. Observe patients for vital signs during examinations.
- Follow prescribed safety standards in operating radiologic equipment.
- Use EMR to properly document actions taken during procedure. Follow all appropriate processes.
- Select kVp and MAS by adjusting equipment based upon individual patient body size and habitus. Adhere to ALARA standards.
- Perform quality control on exams to look for proper density and contract, definition, magnification and distortion. Make necessary adjustments based on findings.
- Maintain x-ray rooms, stock supplies, clean and make minor adjustments or repairs to equipment.
- Participate in training employees.
- Attend required meetings and participate in committees as requested.
- Follow OSHA guidelines.
- Perform related work as required by departmental needs and duties, i.e. importing or burning CD’s, requesting imaging from other facilities, manage PACS.
- Maintain a high degree of confidentiality and abide by all HIPAA rules and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Completion of course in Radiologic Technology approved by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist
- Current ARRT registration required, including certifications in both Washington and Oregon State.
- Current health care provider BLS certification.
- One year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist is preferred.
- Knowledge of anatomy and physiology to sufficiently pinpoint area for radiography.
- Knowledge of radiology equipment and testing.
- Knowledge of safety hazards common to radiology including equipment, body mechanics, and patient movement.
- Skill in troubleshooting equipment operation and performing simple adjustments.
- Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public.
- Ability to read, understand and respond to detailed oral and written instructions, including communicating clearly.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
- Requires standing and walking for extensive periods of time.
- Occasionally lifts and carries items weighing up to 30 pounds, and move and coordinate patients lifting in excess of 300 pounds and positions in appropriate positions for optimal image quality.
- Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
- Requires ability to handle multiple demands at times.
- Frequent exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medicinal preparations and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
- This position is required to be on site at assigned clinical locations 100% of the time.
- May need to travel between offices in Oregon and Washington.
