ABOUT REBELLION
Rebellion Records is one of the fastest-growing independent music companies in the world. Headquartered in Soho, NYC, we sign and invest in artists with the discipline of an investment firm and the speed of a startup.
THE ROLE
This is not a traditional A&R job.
You will be the analytical engine behind our signing decisions. Reporting directly to the President of Rebellion, you'll produce daily reports identifying the artists we should sign next, grounded in data science rather than gut feeling. You'll build and refine models that correlate streaming performance with social signals, detect momentum before the market does, and turn raw platform data into conviction.
Think of this role as closer to a quant researcher or private equity analyst than a conventional A&R. The artists you surface will become real deal proposals, and those proposals will be scrutinized by senior leadership and our finance partners. Your work needs to hold up.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
• Produce daily reports surfacing key artists to sign, backed by data and a clear thesis
• Build and maintain analyses correlating streaming metrics with social media growth and engagement
• Track emerging artists, genres, and consumption trends across DSPs, TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, and beyond
• Pressure-test your own picks: momentum vs. manipulation, organic vs. paid, durable vs. flash-in-the-pan
• Present findings to the President and defend your recommendations in front of senior leadership and financial partners
• Continuously improve how Rebellion sources, screens, and evaluates talent

You do not need a music industry background. Strong candidates from finance, consulting, data science, or research backgrounds are encouraged to apply. We care about how you think, not where you've been.
