Position Overview
The Director of Finance at Rebellion Fabrication is a leadership seat responsible for building the financial infrastructure, systems, and operational discipline required to support the company’s continued growth.
This role is designed for a hands-on financial leader who understands the realities of construction and steel fabrication environments—not just accounting theory. The ideal candidate can personally execute today while building scalable systems for tomorrow.
This position owns the financial reporting, forecasting, controls, systems improvement, and financial operations roadmap across the business while partnering closely with ownership, leadership, and Rebellion Fabrication’s fractional CFO.
As the Director of Finance, you will:
- Own the Finance seat on the Leadership Team
- Lead financial reporting, forecasting, and operational financial visibility
- Drive financial systems and automation improvements across the business
- Build scalable controls, processes, and reporting infrastructure
- Support long-term operational growth through financial clarity and accountability

Key Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Operations
- Lead all day-to-day accounting operations across multiple entities
- Own monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes
- Prepare and present timely and accurate financial statements, reporting packages, and forecasts
- Oversee budgeting, cash flow planning, and financial forecasting
- Maintain accurate job costing, WIP reporting, and project financial tracking
- Manage banking relationships, debt structures, and financial reporting requirements
- Support ownership and leadership with operational and strategic financial visibility
Construction & Fabrication Financial Management
- Manage percentage-of-completion accounting methodologies and WIP schedules
- Oversee AIA billing workflows (G702/G703), progress billing, and revenue recognition processes
- Support bonding and surety reporting requirements
- Ensure compliance with multi-state sales and use tax requirements
Financial Systems & Automation
- Own the company’s financial systems and automation roadmap
- Evaluate current accounting, operational, and reporting systems to identify gaps and opportunities
- Partner with leadership to improve reporting workflows, automation, and operational visibility
- Develop recommendations regarding future ERP or systems enhancement opportunities
- Support integration and optimization between financial and operational platforms including Sage 50, Tekla PowerFab, and related workflows
Audit Readiness & Internal Controls
- Prepare financial systems and processes for future external audit readiness
- Identify and close internal control gaps across accounting and operational workflows
- Improve approval workflows, documentation standards, and financial process consistency
- Strengthen segregation of duties and financial accountability systems
Leadership & Collaboration
- Partner closely with RF’s fractional CFO to support strategic financial visibility and long-term planning
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, project management, estimating, and leadership teams
What You Bring to the Table
Required Experience
- 7–10 years of progressive financial leadership experience within construction or steel fabrication
- Strong understanding of job costing, WIP schedules, ASC 606 / percentage-of-completion accounting, and operational finance
- Experience managing financial operations in fast-paced project-based environments
- Proven ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution
Strongly Preferred
- ERP evaluation, implementation, or systems optimization experience
- Experience with Sage, PowerFab, or related construction/fabrication software platforms
- Experience with bonding, surety reporting, and construction financial reporting
- Experience supporting multi-entity financial operations
- CPA or MBA preferred but not required

Compensation & Benefits
- Base Salary: $175,000 – $210,000 depending on experience and qualifications
- Eligible for participation in the leadership team’s deferred incentive program
