Food Truck Team Member

Overview
Rebel ‘Que is a new food truck business offering a unique, delicious type of BBQ. Customers will be served at brewpubs, apartment complexes, HOAs, special events, and catering within 5-10 miles of the Broomfield area. A commercial kitchen (commissary) in Broomfield will serve as the truck’s home base where food and supplies will be stored & prepped and pots/pans/utensils washed. Some cooking will be done in the kitchen and some in the truck.

Times/shifts
Customer service hours will typically be 4:30-8:00pm Monday-Friday, and Noon-8pm Saturday-Sunday. Combined with kitchen prep/closing before and after customer service provides the opportunity for a full 8-hour shift (10-12 hours on weekends) or less, depending on team member schedules.

Roles/positions
We’ll have three team members in the truck:

• greeting customers at the window and managing their orders
• prepping meat and BBQ sauce
• cooking French fries and prepping other sides

These could be part-time positions, or possibly full-time for the right individuals.

Compensation
$15-16 per hour, plus tips $25-30 per hour

Duties (some will vary depending on your role)

• Exceptional customer service
• Handle credit card and cash transactions accurately
• Prepare hot and cold food based on our special recipes
• Open and close the truck
• Assist with prep in kitchen and closing at night
• Assist with cleanliness and sanitation of truck and kitchen
• Comply with food safety and handling procedures
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations

Qualifications

• Food service experience
• Strong communication skills and friendly attitude toward customers and team members
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
• Basic math skills for processing customer orders and handling cash transactions
• Transportation to/from work and able to arrive on time
• Ability to stand for extended periods and lift 50 lbs
• Kneel, bend, twist or stoop
• Reach and grab objects above head and below waist
• Ascend and descend stairs
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality and sanitation
• Willingness to learn new skills related to food preparation and service
• Have Food Handlers license or willing to attain it (assistance provided)
• For full-time staff, willingness to attain Food Manager Safety certificate (assistance provided)

Process/Timeline
We will hire two new team members by the end of April to support our May launch. The owner will be the third team members initially, then as the business grows, an additional team member will be hired to replace him.

We will start slow the first couple weeks to allow our team to become comfortable and confident. Then gradually increase our service hours and customer volume.
