Event PlannerEast Meets West CateringFull-Time | $75,000–$130,000 Base Salary plus commissionCompetitive Pay & BenefitsJob Description:This role is responsible for generating new catering business, managing client relationships, and ensuring all catering events run smoothly from initial inquiry to final execution.The Event Planner will coordinate, plan, and oversee catering events from concept to completion, ensuring a seamless and memorable experience for clients. This role requires exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with culinary and service teams.The ideal candidate has a passion for hospitality, excellent communication skills, and a proven ability to drive sales.Essential Functions:Meet with clients to understand event needs, preferences, and budgets. Participate in tastings, site visits, and meetings as needed.Respond promptly to inquiries via phone, email, and in-person meetings.Understand clients’ needs and design tailored catering proposals. Develop event proposals, timelines, and floor plans in coordination with the culinary and service teams.Coordinate logistics, including rentals, staffing, transportation, and setup/breakdownOversee on-site event execution to ensure smooth operations and client satisfaction.Maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers to ensure high-quality service.Maintain accurate records of sales, contracts, and client communications.Meet or exceed monthly and annual sales targets.Assist with marketing initiatives, such as event promotions and client outreach.Manage multiple events simultaneously, ensuring all deadlines and expectations are met.Provide post-event follow-up, including feedback collection and reporting. Qualifications:Proven experience in event planning, hospitality, or catering.Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.Knowledge of catering operations and food service preferred.Knowledge of sales strategies, contract negotiation, and customer service.Proficient with Microsoft Office, Caterease, Social Tables and CRM systems.Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as required.About Rebecca’s Culinary Group/East Meets WestRebecca’s Culinary Group/East Meets West has been Boston’s leading independent caterer since 1987, offering cafes, catering, and contract food service.Equal Employment OpportunityEast Meets West provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, disability, gender identity, genetics, sexual orientation, or any other classification protected by federal or state law.Work AuthorizationMust be legally authorized to work in the United States.
