Overview
The Studio Operations Manager plays a key leadership role in ensuring the smooth, high-quality day-to-day functioning of our portrait studios. This position focuses on supporting the photography team, refining operational workflows, and collaborating with both the Sales Department and Client Experience Team to drive client satisfaction and sales outcomes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and invested in cultivating a team culture centered on consistency, connection, and exceptional client experiences.
Key Responsibilities
1. Team Support & Photographer Development
- Provide direct support to photographers and hybrid editors across multiple studio locations.
- Conduct weekly coaching sessions to review portfolios, reinforce client experience standards, and identify growth areas.
- Monitor adherence to emotional storytelling scripts and ensure consistent delivery of our luxury experience.
- Collaborate with the editing team to ensure smooth post-session handoffs and production timelines.
2. Operational Execution & Studio Workflow
- Maintain and update studio SOPs to support consistency across all stages—from client intake to portrait delivery.
- Identify and resolve bottlenecks in daily studio workflows in collaboration with photography, booking, and editing departments.
- Assist with scheduling adjustments, time off requests, and basic procurement and stock needs.
- Support rollout of operational improvements, training documents, and visual updates (e.g., backdrop guides, session flow signage).
3. Cross-Department Collaboration
- Partner closely with the Director of Sales and Manager of Client Experience (Booking & Calls) to:
- Review client booking-to-session-to-sale performance.
- Help refine scripts and session preparation strategies.
- Share trends or obstacles impacting show rates, reschedules, or emotional connection.
- Participate in weekly team meetings to align goals and troubleshoot studio-level challenges.
4. Quality Control & Client Experience Oversight
- Ensure all client touchpoints in the studio uphold our brand values and visual standards.
- Monitor session consistency, professionalism, and adherence to intake and welcome scripts via gallery and footage reviews.
- Track client survey responses and address recurring issues in partnership with studio staff.
- Proactively coach photographers on soft skills that improve client connection, storytelling, and upsell readiness.
5. Performance Metrics & Reporting
- Help track and share key operational metrics weekly, including:
- Client Retention: % of clients completing their full journey from booking to reveal.
- Studio Consistency: Quality standards upheld across locations.
- Reschedule/Cancellation Rates: Identify trends and collaborate with booking to reduce.
- Photographer Contributions: Session outcomes and sales impact by team member.
- Provide data and insights to support monthly and quarterly bonus reviews.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in operations, team coordination, or client-facing roles in fast-paced environments. Backgrounds in hospitality, retail leadership, education, or creative services are all highly applicable.
- Previous experience with photography and editing is a plus, but not required.
- Proven ability to lead a team, give feedback, and maintain high operational standards.
- Strong communicator and collaborator with a positive, solutions-oriented mindset.
- Comfortable working across departments, managing competing priorities, and traveling as needed (estimated once every 1-2 months).
- Proficient in task management, performance tracking, and coaching others toward success.
Work Environment & Schedule
- Full-time
- Located in Maitland, FL
- Availability during core operating hours (8 AM – 6 PM EST)
- Travel to other studio locations required approximately 1–2 times per month
