PLC/HMI Programmer
Rebar Machine Service is a family-owned, manufacturing business that has been committed to quality craftsmanship and innovation for 40 years. We are seeking a detail-oriented PLC/HMI Programmer to join our engineering and production team. This position is focused on robust automation programming, system integration, and machine control—NOT passive desk work or theoretical IT support.
Programmers are required to be extremely detail-oriented. All automation logic, safety code, user interfaces, and control networks must meet rigorous performance, reliability, and safety requirements for use in harsh industrial environments.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, program, and configure PLC logic and HMI screens for industrial manufacturing equipment
- Integrate and commission industrial control systems, ensuring seamless communication between sensors drives, motors, and controllers
- Collaborate closely with the electrical engineering and assembly teams to test, debug, and optimize machine functionality
- Troubleshoot and diagnose complex automation errors, fieldbus network issues, and logic bugs on existing and new equipment
- Document and maintain precise program code, network architecture diagrams, and operator manuals
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have at least 2–5 years of proven experience programming PLCs and HMIs in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Must have strong proficiency with major automation platforms (such as Rockwell/Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or Omron)
- Must be proficient in reading electrical schematics, wire lists, and P&ID diagrams
- Must possess a deep understanding of industrial communication protocols (EtherNet/IP, Modbus, PROFINET, etc.)
- Must have strong on-site troubleshooting skills and experience with diagnostic tools
- Must have an excellent eye for detail and advanced critical thinking/problem-solving skills
