Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Assist in menu planning and ingredient selection to ensure freshness and quality
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including food prep stations and storage
- Handle food safely by following proper food handling procedures and sanitation standards
- Support catering events and special functions with meal preparation and service
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and smooth kitchen operations
- Use knife skills effectively for chopping, slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients
Experience
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is highly desirable
- Proven background in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant service
- Familiarity with food safety protocols and proper food handling techniques
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and catering is a plus
- Strong kitchen experience within the food industry or culinary environment
- Knowledge of food service operations, including serving and food presentation skills
- Demonstrated proficiency in knife skills and meal assembly processes
