Porter

A full service multifamily real estate firm, ROSS Companies, is looking for an experienced Porter for a property in Aberdeen, MD. Your role will play a pivotal part in ensuring the interior and exterior physical appearance of the community at a satisfactory level. This role will also support with apartment turnover.

Responsibilities:

• To maintain the interior and exterior physical appearance of the property as instructed.
• Maintain a neat physical appearance, including clean, orderly and complete uniform (where applicable).
• Maintain professional attitude with the community residents, limiting communication during working hours to matters relative to the community.
• Communicate hazards or unsafe conditions for public, residents, and fellow employees to supervisor.
• Inform supervisor of any residents or guests responsible for damage done to community structures and grounds.
• Accept tasks assigned as temporary or permanent additions to responsibilities.
• Promote fair housing standards and equal housing opportunity.
• Other duties as may be requested by supervisor.
• Complete service order requests timely and accurately as assigned.
• Maintain the cleanliness of assigned areas of the grounds and/or public areas (including trash rooms, laundry rooms, storage rooms and offices, etc.).
• Accompany Property Manager with inspections of apartments, public areas, grounds, when needed.
• Assist as needed during community emergency situations (example: snow removal, fire, flood, natural or man-made disasters).
• Attend seminars, classes, or community staff meetings for policy updates, instructions for equipment use and reviews of government regulations.

Qualifications: 

• Previous Porter experience, preferred.
• High School Diploma, preferred.
• Lifting, standing, walking, twisting, crawling, stooping, climbing, pushing and pulling, steering and bending, with dead weight in excess of 40 pounds.
• Operating powered and non – powered equipment and tools where manual pushing, pulling or steering of equipment is required.
