RealREPP, a national full-service recruiting firm, is partnering with a well-established construction/engineering firm to assist in hiring an experienced HR Director in La Mirada, CA.

- Develop, maintain and update HR policies and procedures in compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws
- Serve as a point of contact for employee relations, ensuring fair treatment and consistency in handling complaints and disciplinary actions
- Lead the annual performance review process, including feedback collection, goal setting & career development discussions
- Train managers on effective evaluation techniques and provide support in addressing performance improvement plans
- Identify skill gaps and work with department leaders to recommend targeted training initiatives
- Create and implement programs that enhance employee engagement, recognition & well-being
- Develop strategies for employee retention, including regular feedback sessions, satisfaction surveys, and & growth pathways
- Ensure new hires are smoothly onboarded, completing the necessary paperwork, background checks & orientation
- Collaborate with senior management and department heads to identify and address training needs across the organization
- Support the development and implementation of training programs, leadership development & career growth opportunities
- Ensure all employees have access to resources and tools that support their professional development
- Oversee and administer employee benefits programs, including health, retirement & wellness plans while ensuring compliance
- Support management in compensation planning and ensure competitive & equitable pay practices
- Provide guidance to employees on benefit plans, policies & HR-related inquiries
- Maintain accurate and confidential HR records, including payroll information, benefits & employee files
- Generate and analyze HR metrics to inform decisions, improve processes & track HR performance against strategic goals
- Report regularly to management on HR activities, compliance, recruitment metrics & retention efforts
- Plan and manage employee events, recognition programs & other initiatives to build a strong company culture
- Partner with managers to understand current and future hiring needs & provide support for strategic workforce planning
- Coordinate and oversee recruitment efforts for key roles, including job postings, screening, interviewing & selection processes
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Admin, Human Resources or similar (required)
- 10 years HR experience required
- 5 years specific in HR Director or Senior Leadership role
- Experience as strategic business partner with executive teams
- Professional HR certifications highly preferred
- Knowledge of employment laws, compliance, employee relations, comp, benefits, talent acquisition, performance management
- Experience developing HR policies, conducting performance reviews, developing HR policies, managing employee relations
- Experience with multiple locations
- Experience with 500 employees
- Proficiency with ADP, HRIS & HR reporting tools
- Great interpersonal skills & strong attention to detail
- Ability to travel to another location if required
- Bilingual (preferred)
- $180-240k base (range based on experience)
