What You'll Do
We are seeking a Senior Cloud Technology Services Engineer who is collaborative, creative, analytical, and strategic, with deep expertise in cloud services, security, and automation. In this role, you will define requirements, design solutions, and implement and automate cloud-based services and security frameworks across hybrid and multi-cloud environments. The ideal candidate combines technical excellence with a passion for delivering secure, scalable, and high-quality user experiences. You’ll leverage your ability to balance robust security with innovation, ensuring our cloud infrastructure is both resilient and future-ready.
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Services & Security Engineering
- Assesses, designs, implements, and maintains cloud and hybrid services infrastructure in various models, such as SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS
- Further develops expertise in core cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, Web hosting, and rich content delivery)
- Establishes solution standards for cloud infrastructure technologies in support of customer facing and product integrated technologies
- Integrates acquired cloud services and on-premises systems into unified enterprise architectures
- Develops and assists Dev Ops in implementing cloud services used in software solutions, development activities and product technology service operations, aligned with security policies and standards and industry specific compliance, such as FERPA, COPPPA, CMMC, NIST, PCI-DSS, GDPR, HIPAA, etc
- Plans, develops, and implements automated secure and performant cloud services baselines and service automation
- Provides technological standards, recommendations and guidance for application and service scaling needs, in support of effective service cost management for technology-enabled products
Cloud Services Automation & Scripting
- Automates cloud services and security operations, with an understanding of industry tools, such as: Python, REST APIs, Terraform, Ansible, and other cloud-native standards
- Develops scripts and tools for cloud services configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Implements automation for chronic issue resolution and integrates with cloud monitoring solutions, such as: CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, etc.
Compliance & Governance
- Creates, maintains, and documents security and performance baselines for cloud services, and dependent platforms
- Implements security controls and policies to meet regulated and classified cloud services environments; such as FERPA, COPPA, GDPR, WCAG, etc.
- Provides consulting and remediation services for cloud services regulatory audits
- Operates as support escalation point for Product Support and Product Management
Mentoring & Collaboration
- Mentors and coaches' personnel in peer teams, fostering a culture of open knowledge sharing, technical development, cloud services and security awareness
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders (R&D, Product Development, DevOps, software development, both internal and external partners)
- Provides recommendations, consultations, and guidance reporting to leadership on cloud services, security, and supporting operations
Technical Expertise
- Serves as a subject matter expert (SME) in cloud services solutions and standards
- Participates in acceptance testing, troubleshooting, and transitioning projects from development/pilot to production for large-scale product integrated cloud services
- Champions process improvements and strategic change initiatives in cloud services environments
What We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience in Technology management, Computer Science, Information Technology, and cloud computing
- 10 years of experience in technology services and security engineering roles, with at least 5 years of experience in cloud environments
- Demonstrated experience with cloud services design and implementation, automation, and security by design practices
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Python, Terraform, Ansible, REST APIs)
- Experience with security and compliance frameworks (CMMC, NIST, PCI-DSS, SOX, HIPAA, FERPA, COPPA) in cloud services contexts
- Excellent creative problem solving, collaboration, mentoring, and cross-functional operations
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CCNA, JNCIA, CompTIA Security , Microsoft cloud solutions engineer, is ideal; Advanced certifications (AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, etc.) is a plus
- Experience in regulated environments, such as defense, manufacturing, education tech or other relevant industries is desired

The expected compensation range for this position is $123,613 - $154,516.
The full compensation range for this position is $123,613 - $185,419. The full range reflects compensation RW Thrive may consider for candidates with advanced experience or skills beyond the qualifications listed.
