The Opportunity: Electrical Engineer
- Join Realityworks as an Electrical Engineer and help shape the future of healthcare and education! In this hands-on role, you’ll design and develop electronic systems for our innovative and simulation products. This includes building prototypes, testing hardware, and solving real-world challenges. You’ll collaborate closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to create reliable, manufacturable designs that integrate with embedded systems, mobile apps, and AI-driven software. Key Responsibilities
- Builds and assembles prototype electrical systems and subcomponents, including soldering circuit boards, fabricating cables, and wiring assemblies
- Assists in the design, layout, modification, and refinement of electronic circuits for embedded control systems
- Collaborates with software and mechanical engineers to integrate hardware with firmware and software and ensure system compatibility
- Performs hands-on hardware testing, validation, and troubleshooting to verify performance against specifications and identify root causes of failures
- Iterates on electrical designs and prototype assemblies based on test results, design reviews, and integration feedback
- Documents test results, hardware configurations, assembly processes, and design changes to support internal use and production transfer
- Maintains laboratory equipment, tools, and prototype inventory to support ongoing development activities
- Participates in design reviews, offering input related to hardware integration, reliability, and manufacturability
- Supports continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to improve electrical assembly, testing workflows, and documentation practices
- Assists with ensuring electrical designs support applicable regulatory and compliance requirements for domestic and key international markets
- Performs other additional duties as assigned or required
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering Technology, or relevant technical field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering, prototyping, or hardware development
- Demonstrated experience with hands-on electrical assembly, mechanical, firmware and/or software testing and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Experience supporting product development involving integrated systems software (embedded, desktop, mobile, or server-side), electronics, and mechanical elements
- Familiarity with consumer product regulatory requirements and supporting documentation
- Experience with risk assessment, failure analysis, or defect tracking tools
- Exposure to test case management or structured verification processes
- Experience testing on Windows, MAC, mobile, and Servers
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating in a cross-functional engineering environment
Work Location
- Realityworks is located in Eau Claire, WI and this will be an onsite position.
Travel Requirements
- Occasional travel, typically less than 10%, with the potential to increase based on project needs
