We are seeking a Director of People Operations (Part-Time) to lead and scale our people function, with the option to convert to a full-time role after 3-6 months. This role will be responsible for building foundational HR processes, supporting talent strategy, and ensuring a strong, compliant, and engaging employee experience.

The Director of People Operations Role (Part-Time).

This part-time role based in NYC is ideal for a strategic HR leader who enjoys building from the ground up, thrives in startup environments, and is comfortable balancing high-level strategy with hands-on execution. Responsibilities include:
- Define and lead People Operations strategy, including organizational design, workforce planning, and employee experience
- Build and implement core HR processes including onboarding, performance management, and employee lifecycle management
- Partner with leadership to support hiring plans, compensation strategy, and talent development
- Ensure compliance with employment laws, policies, and best practices across regulated and high-compliance environments
- Oversee HR systems, documentation, and reporting, ensuring data accuracy and confidentiality
- Support employee relations, engagement initiatives, and internal communications
- Collaborate with recruiting to support hiring operations and candidate experience
- Advise leadership on organizational health, culture, and people-related decision-making
- 6 years of experience in Human Resources, People Operations, or related roles
- Experience in a leadership or senior HR role, ideally in a startup or high-growth environment
- Strong knowledge of HR best practices, employment law, and compliance requirements
- Experience building HR processes and programs from the ground up
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to advise senior leadership
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
